About Avenues
Avenues Shenzhen is a top-tier bilingual school which offers a truly global education. After launching in 2018 with a unique early childhood program, Avenues Shenzhen now serves about 500 students from two to eighteen years of age with a cutting-edge educational program spanning the primary and secondary divisions. At Avenues Shenzhen, teaching and learning happen through language immersion in both English and Chinese as well as challenging interdisciplinary projects.

What We Teach
· Primary School
Our Primary Division serves children from age 1.5 through Year 5, including Small World for children ages 1.5–2, the Early Learning Center for children ages 3–6 and Years 1–5. Across the division, students learn through Mandarin and English language immersion, inquiry-based exploration and interdisciplinary projects that nurture curiosity, creativity and confidence.
Small World | 1.5–2Y
Small World is Avenues’ innovative program for children ages 1.5–2: a joyful and enriching first school experience that fosters healthy separation in a bilingual English/Mandarin environment. The program emphasizes:
Early Learning Center, Ages 3–6
In the Early Learning Center, children learn primarily through play, discovery and exploration. English and Chinese teachers work closely together to support students’ social, emotional and academic growth, while fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Years 1–5
In Years 1–5, students deepen their independent thinking, creativity and sense of community through bilingual learning, inquiry and interdisciplinary projects. Students also engage in specialist learning experiences such as math, visual art, music, movement and wellness, and library.
· Secondary School
The Middle and Upper Grades are where our ambitious goals for Avenues graduates, defined in our mission statement, are most comprehensively realized. While in grades 6-12, we prepare students for a globally connected, innovation-driven, and largely unknown future. Our students will be: accomplished in all the academic skills you would expect, at ease beyond their borders, and confident because they excel in a particular passion. Students will learn through project based, interdisplinary, inquiry-based, mastery projects to deepen their learning and also understand personal passion. We offer Humanity, Science, Music, Art, Literacy learnings to our students.
