WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Avenues Shenzhen seeks a Dean of Students for our expanded Residential Life Program to join the Shenzhen campus for the school year 2026/2027. This role is responsible for ensuring that students under their care are effectively supported so that they can thrive at Avenues. They will work closely with other colleagues in our residential life program and be part of Student Wellbeing Team, as well as with Explorers team, operations team and the broader divisional teams. 

 

As a member of the Student Wellbeing Team, you will: 

  • Provide a safe, stimulating, and supporting environments for all students to thrive and feel known and cared for on and off campus. 
  • Provide mentorship and care to support students’ behavior, mental and SEL needs, be responsible for parent communications related to students 
  • Design and coordinate after school programs for boarding students  
  • Working with Explores team, provide dorm operational support for all camps for secondary students 
  • Work with a great team, building strong relationships with the other members, as well as the teaching faculty. 
  • Be an exemplary learner, always reflecting, growing, and seeking to improve. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

  • Educational or professional background in education, student life, and/or residential life programs, after school programs in secondary or post-secondary programs. 
  • More than two years of experience as a teacher, counselor, or residential life team member. 
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage health and safety protocols for the boarding environment. 
  • Prior experience supporting students in schools, specifically with one-on-one practice or small group interventions. 
  • Prior experience design and coordinating meaningful after school programs of secondary students 
  • Sense of deep personal responsibility and care to students. 
  • Deep willingness to collaborate and learn. 
  • Native Chinese speaker, and professionally proficient in English.
